Alpha Beta Opens
Spectacular New House

Over 450 brothers and others came back to Champaign to help celebrate Alpha Beta’s new chapter house dedication.  Homecoming weekend provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration.

To recap the whirlwind weekend - the WOW factor was universal.  Brothers from every generation marveled at the new house (pictured to the right).  The new facility exceeded many expectations by remaining true to the old chapter house’s design of arches, beautiful décor, and thoughtful incorporation of actual stonework taken from the old house (pictured below).

The new Alpha Beta House boasts:

·         A capacity of 84 brothers – 78 live in now and a Fall Associate Member class of 50 can’t wait to move in.

·         First floor foyer and lounge proudly displays all capital campaign donors.  The original Ben Franklin bust (pictured on the cover page) still greets all as they enter the house.

·         Modern kitchen and dining facilities.

·         Brothers live in suites, each of which includes a study lounge and common area.

·         A chapter room anchored by a magnificent officers’ desk designed and built by chapter advisor Josh DeYoung, who also did all the landscaping.

Alumni and undergraduates deserve congratulations for delivering on their promise to open a house in keeping with Alpha Beta traditions and one which will be home to new generations of Theta Xis.
